Best Web Hosting Companies in Singapore - Top 10 Website Hosting

Best Web Hosting Companies in Singapore

Finding a lightning-fast web hosting with decent customer support and features, that are great value for money can be very time-consuming.

I signed up with all of the hosts below and tested their services against Singapore servers to give you an accurate representation of the best web hosting in Singapore.

We used Bitcatcha’s server response time tester to see how quickly each web host could load a website across multiple locations, including Singapore and Asia.

1. SiteGround (Best Overall Web Hosting Singapore)

Siteground_logo

Out of all the web hosts we tried and tested, SiteGround is by far the most well-known and internationally renowned for its superior customer support and fast server speeds.

Whilst SiteGround may cost a little more than its competitors, it’s certainly well worth the investment. Their features are great value for money and show dedication not only to web hosting, but also server speeds and their customers.

With SiteGround, you’ll get super-fast SSD storage, you can host as many websites as you want, and if you’re hosting a WordPress website, you’ll get access to awesome SiteGround features like their in-house built software SG Site Scanner, SG Optimizer, etc.

SiteGround offers multiple data centers around the world that you can choose from when signing up for their web hosting. Singapore is one of the locations, meaning if you’re based in Singapore or your website visitors are, you’ll get super-fast server response times.

Pros:

  • Great server response times in Singapore
  • Reliable web hosting with 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • In-house built software to boost speeds and performance

Cons:

  • Expensive pricing

2. Hostinger

Hostinger Review

One of the biggest appeals of Hostinger is that they have a data center located in Singapore, coupled with their insanely low pricing structure.

Whilst Hostinger’s server speeds may not be a match for SiteGround, they are definitely worth a mention, especially given how cheap their hosting is along with the features that are on offer.

For just 1.32 SGD you’ll get hosting for 1 website, WordPress support and acceleration, 100GB bandwidth, free SSL, 1 email account, and 10GB SSD storage. Though it wouldn’t be enough for an online store or small business website, Hostinger’s Single shared hosting plan is perfect for personal websites or blogs, and it’s really hard to complain at the price.

Once you’ve signed up for Hostinger’s web hosting, you’ll be surprised at how easy their hPanel (control panel) is to navigate. It’s honestly one of the best I’ve seen and would probably say it’s even better than SiteGround’s. It’s easy to install WordPress, manage domains, etc.

Hostinger’s customer support is fantastic too. They are helpful, friendly, and are a little quirky too which is an edge I quite enjoy.

Pros:

  • Very cheap web hosting
  • Free SSL certificate included on all plans
  • Control panel is easy to use

Cons:

  • Slower server speeds than SiteGround

3. A2 Hosting

A2 Hosting

A2 Hosting is another hosting company that offers a data center located in Singapore. With server response times of under 100ms in Asia, this is good news for those who are looking for the best web hosting in Singapore.

A2 Hosting is well-known for its outstanding customer support, and I’m pleased to report I experienced this in my testing.

If you’re looking for affordable web hosting with average server speeds and performance, you’ll be able to get that from A2. However, if you plan to host a website with lots of images and videos, you’re going to find your site struggles to load them within a few seconds.

But, if you’re willing to spend a bit more on A2 Hosting, their more expensive pricing plans that include Turbo Boost are well worth the investment. You’ll get up to 20x faster server speeds and performance, which you’ll need for larger websites and online stores.

A2 Hosting is great for smaller websites and local businesses as you’ll get unlimited email accounts which is a real bonus. You’ll also get unlimited bandwidth, SSD storage, and a free SSL certificate.

Pros:

  • Great customer support
  • Unlimited email accounts
  • Ideal for small websites and businesses

Cons:

  • Lower-priced plans don’t include Turbo Boost

4. Exabytes SG

exabytes sg logo

Exabytes is a familiar web hosting brand when you think about web hosting in Singapore. It was launched back in 2001 and has since grown to offer a wealth of services over the years.

For just S$3.99/mo you can get 10GB storage, 20GB bandwidth, 10 email accounts, cPanel, free SSL, free daily backup, free domain privacy, and hosting in a Singapore data center. Because Exabytes is focused on Singapore customers, you’ll expect to receive great support in Singapore, as well as decent server speeds across Asia.

Whilst Exabytes may not be a match for the features offered with other hosts like SiteGround, it’s a convenient web host that offers everything in one place. If you can afford to pay more monthly with Exabytes, you will get similar features to other hosts, but you’ll also pay more, which in my opinion isn’t worth it for the few extra ms you’ll gain from the server location.

Pros:

  • Hosted in Singapore data center
  • Free domain privacy
  • Free SSL and daily backup

Cons:

  • Features compared to other hosts are average

5. Vodien

Vodien is considered one of Singapore’s best hosting services, so we decided to sign up and test their hosting features, and assess their prices.

Their webValue plan offers 15GB storage space, 10 email accounts, 5 websites, and unlimited bandwidth. Whilst the plan sounds suitable for small websites or blogs, the price is astonishingly high at S$11 per month compared to other web hosts.

Turning our heads to Vodien’s customer support, it’s somewhat to be desired. We contacted their support team which took over 10 hours to respond to an issue. Whilst the issue was dealt with when they got back to us, the time it took to get to that point was disheartening.

In terms of speed and performance, Vodien’s results showed less than 10ms server response time in Singapore, and under 100ms in Asia. Though their features and plans may be overpriced, their server performance is worth its weight in gold if this is what you want to prioritise.

Pros:

  • Fast server response time in Singapore
  • Reputable web hosting company in Singapore

Cons:

  • Slow customer support
  • Overpriced

Best Web Hosting Singapore FAQs

How quickly should a website load?

According to Google, websites should load in under 1 second. Between 1-3 seconds, the probability of bounce rate increases by 32%, up to 5 seconds increases to 90%, and the numbers just get higher and higher. If you want your website visitors to stay on your website, you need to make sure your website loads quickly. Factors like server speed are taken into account, so finding the right web host for your location is incredibly important.

Is the cheapest web host the best host?

This isn’t always the case, and actually, in most cases, it’s not. However, the cheapest web host can be the best, it’s really down to other factors too including speed, performance, pricing, and features. Our top-rated Singapore web host is SiteGround; it’s actually a lot more expensive than other hosts, but it offers outstanding features that make it great value for money.

Is customer support really important?

Yes! Customer support is very important, even if you think you know what you’re doing. Customer support for web hosting is more about having someone available if something goes wrong. Not everything is controlled by you, the end-user, and in some cases, there can be a technical issue on the server end that requires you to speak to a customer service agent to find out what’s going on. I always recommend finding a web host that offers 24/7 customer support, and if you can speak to them on live chat or the telephone, that’s a bonus.
