Hostens is a low-cost hosting company that charmingly describes itself as “A home for your website”. The Hostens site itself is incredibly welcoming with beautiful, colourful imagery and a pleasantly cute hamster mascot!
But far more than having a visually-appealing website, Hostens features incredible prices, 24/7 support, and a robust hosting platform built with “enterprise-level hardware”.
After looking through the Hostens site, I was really keen to uncover more about the company by interviewing its founder Arvydas Štrausas; the man behind the mascot. Arvydas was kind enough to cooperate with me by answering my questions.
A Long History In The Hosting Industry
Arvydas has served the hosting industry for many years, gaining valuable skills and experience along the way. He explained where Hostens began:
“To launch Hostens was quite a mature decision. Hostens is a branch of the leading web hosting company operating in Lithuania. So our experience within the web hosting industry, our infrastructure, and our talented team that we are very proud of, encouraged us to go global by launching Hostens.

“We offer all-round solutions for any hosting needs: shared hosting, VPS hosting, VPN services, website building, and security certificates. However, our core service is web hosting.
All of our shared hosting plans offer perks, such as a 70% discount if you purchase web hosting for three years. Therefore, you can have a stable web hosting for as little as $0.90 per month. And the most important thing is that this price doesn’t increase later. Moreover, a free domain and a website builder are included in that price. You can create your entire online shop, blog, or whatever you need by paying less than one dollar per month. So that makes our web hosting packages really popular and competitive within the market.”
Considering the price and all the inclusions, it’s not surprising to me that Hostens shared hosting plans are the company’s most popular. For that $0.90 per month Arvydas was speaking of, you will get:

How Is Hostens’ Customer Service?
The Hostens team consistently monitor their level of customer service and are always looking for ways to improve. They do this by regularly asking customers for honest feedback and ensuring high levels of communication at all times. Arvydas had more to say on the subject:

I really like the laid-back atmosphere of the website and the hamster welcoming mascot adds a unique touch. Perhaps most impressive though, is the amount of features you get for your money.
