We brought up some statistics which show 1&1’s uptime record since 2005, which gave an overall uptime rating of 99.927%, which isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either considering a lot of major web hosting providers guarantee a 99.9% uptime. However, we check our 1&1’s record for the last 12 months, and the last 5 years, and are pleased to report a 100% uptime rating. Over the space of 5 years, that is pretty impressive!

We were surprised at how active 1&1 staff were, on social media like Twitter, but we feel this is an added benefit, and that the company don’t feel like they have to hide their presence in the social media world.
1&1’s support staff were friendly and knowledgeable, if a little pushy at times – the reason we mention this is because after purchasing a domain name and hosting plan through them, they persisted to call every couple of weeks to check how things were. It’s great that they care about their customers, but we feel this should be an obvious option for customers to select when purchasing, whether or not they want a follow up call about their purchased services.
